VOODOO LOPEZ: MYRRH
I want to thank everyone who’s been listening and supporting me on this musical journey every Friday for the past fourteen years, coming this January. Beyond just music, House has been not only a cultural phenomenon but a way of life that embodies values of brotherhood, community, respect, freedom of expression, reflecting our shared humanity and emotions. Each session has been a reflection of moments in my life, with titles holding the secrets of events, moments, and reasons. In many cases, it’s been a source of hope during difficult times, where music served as my only refuge. I never sought fame or glory; your personal messages, visits, calls, and friendship have been the greatest recognition for me. While I might miss playing more in clubs, circumstances don’t let me more chances for that, cos I live on the the wrong place at other side of the music. Knowing there are people like you on the other side of the headphones, finding solace in this selection of sounds, makes me feel fulfilled. There was a time when we followed DJs for their ability to not just move us to dance but to surprise us with unheard music. Now, with industry changes and competition of egos, DJs often become mere decorations in clubs. I’m proud to be where House truly belongs—the underground. Dogglounge has been holding that space for over 20 years.
Merry Christmas, family. Thank you so much! God bless you all Always!
